The TC Baker Sonic - Colin Baker Sonic Competition
Back in September 2024 we were messaged by Colin Baker ( Old Six'y himself) to design and build him a Sonic for his version of the titular character as he never got one. We discussed the idea and put it you, our wonderful community to design the sonic as a competition which Colin would judge. Colin would choose the winning design and it would be hand built by Custom Sonics. Three sonics would be built, one for the winner, one for Colin and one for ourselves.
This is how it went....
The Announcement
The announcement went out across our social media! It was flooded with excitement, creativity and so many in depth conversations. Ideas were thrown around left, right and center! You will never stop surprising us here at Custom Sonics with your burning passion for the show and characters we all adore.
Even out good friend Terry Molloy (Davros) chimed in! We build his sonic for him which was aptly named... THE BEAST. He is certainly looking forward to battling Colin when they're both kitted up!
The entries
With the announcement out we had a massive influx of emails and messages. On the left is a just a minor selection of the entries that we received ( we received over 35 fantastic entries, all of which went to Colin for judging). From 'Lance' like designs, steam punk designs to some beautiful extending sonics. We are so proud of all of those who entered and so a heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated; your creativity and effort truly made this competition special.
The winner announced and sonic built

Construction started not long after. We hade numerous conversations with Thomas leading to the final and completed article. The official, CustomSonic's T.C. Bake We are unbelievably proud of this project and it was an absolute privilege to work with Colin and Thomas on this incredible Sonic for Six'y himself.
